How it started

We came from MTB-Adventure

Gravel Adventure was founded in 2022 as a sister brand to MTB-Adventure.dk. After many years of
running guided mountain bike tours across Europe and South Africa, we could see a different kind
of rider emerging — one who wanted longer distances, mixed surfaces, and a particular kind of
independence on the road.

So we built something for them. Same hands-on approach. Same full service. A different kind of
terrain.

If you already know MTB-Adventure, you’ll recognise the same people behind this — Tanya and
Michael Sommer, and the same crew that has been planning, testing and guiding trips for years.

What we believe

You ride. We handle the rest.

Every route we offer has been ridden by our crew before it goes on the calendar. We know where
the surface changes, where the ascent comes when you’re already tired, and where you’ll want to
stop for longer than planned.

Your luggage moves ahead to the next hotel. Your guide rides with the group. The support vehicle
is there when you need it. The goal is simple: you arrive at each hotel thinking about the ride
you just finished — not about logistics.

Riders first

We’re not travel agents who happen to work with cycling. We ride the routes ourselves. Every
destination on our calendar has been tested by our crew — typically more than once.

Route obsessives

Finding a good gravel route takes time. Finding a great one — one that flows right, that uses
the right roads, that connects in a way that feels like it was made to be ridden — takes
considerably more.

Personal service

We’re a small operation — by design. We know our riders and they tend to come back. When
something goes wrong on a trip, it’s Tanya or Michael on the other end of the phone.

How we work

What comes with every tour

check_circle

Danish guides — we ride with you and know the terrain.
The guides speak Danish and understand the difference between a hard day and an actual problem.

check_circle

Support vehicle — travels with the group each day.
Luggage, spares, and a place to sit if you need one.

check_circle

Hotel to hotel — comfortable accommodation, tested and
chosen to suit riders arriving after a full day in the saddle.

check_circle

Tested routes — we’ve ridden every route before offering
it. No route goes on the calendar until we’re confident in it.

check_circle

GPS option — some riders prefer to make their own pace
through the day. GPS-guided touring is available on most of our tours.
